Funeral services were held today for Marshall H. Kuhn, a former official of the Jewish Community Center and of the Jewish Welfare Federation, who died last Thursday at Mt. Zion Hospital at the age of 62. Born in San Francisco, he had been executive director of the center and director of the Federation community endowment fund. He also had served a variety of philanthropic organizations as a volunteer.

A conservationist, Kuhn helped organize a nature trail in Golden Gate Park and had been honored as “Environmentalist of the Year” by the John Muir Historical Society. At the time of his death, he was editing his memoirs, under sponsorship of the Judah Magnes Museum and the American Jewish Congress. They will be included in the San Francisco Jewish Community Leaders series by the Bancroft Library at the University of California at Berkeley.
