David Stern, 68, was sworn in Monday as a Likud MK replacing Shmuel Rechtmann, who resigned last week as a result of his conviction on bribery charges. Stern, a building constructor, is the brother of Avraham (Yair) Stern, the commander of Lehi, who was shot dead by the British in 1941, allegedly while attempting to escape from British soldiers.
