Palestine Liberation Organization chief Yasir Arafat will attend an international meeting of the Socialist youth June 5-9 in Vienna, the chairman of the Austrian Socialist Youth, Josef Cap, said here today. The organization plans to arrange talks between Israeli and Palestinian youth officials. In an international organizing committee earlier this year Israeli Socialist youth representatives had opposed the plan to invite Arafat but were voted down.
Organizers of the festival expect about 10,000 young Socialists from European countries, Latin America, and various liberation movements in South America and Africa. Representatives of the Polish trade union “Solidarity” will also attend the meeting.
