Israel Names Consul for Information for Western U.S.

Yoram Ben-Ze’ev, one of the Israeli Foreign Ministry’s up-and-coming diplomats, has been named consul in charge of information for the United States west coast area. He will be based at the Consulate-General in Los Angeles.

Ben-Ze’ev,a36-year-old father of two, began his overseas career almost a decade ago in Hong Kong, where he was sent by the Ministry to study Chinese for two years. After that, he served as First Secretary at the Embassy in the Philippines. He holds a Masters degree in international relations from the Hebrew University and currently serves as deputy spokesman of the Ministry in Jerusalem. His wife, Miri, is a video-film editor.
