Political sources here said today that Israel’s limited diplomatic relations with India would continue despite the ouster of the Israeli Consul General in New Delhi for “unacceptable intervention in the affairs of India.”

The Consul, Yossef Hasson, was asked to leave after an interview in which he criticized India’s negative attitude toward Israel. The sources here said the ouster should not be seen in the context of the war in Lebanon. Israel only has a consular office in Bombay which Hasson has headed since 1979.
