Brian Urquhart, Undersecretary General for political affairs, issued a correction Thursday afternoon, contending he made “a mistake” when he said earlier in the day that UN observers in Beirut first learned of the massacre of Palestinians by 8:30 a.m., last Friday. They learned of it by 8:30 a.m. last Saturday, Urquhart said in his correction. (Earlier story P. 2.)
