Three Israeli soldiers were injured in Lebanon yesterday when a truck carrying ammunition caught fire at about midnight last night. The blaze occurred in the Shouf mountain area near Deir El-Kamr. An army investigation committee is looking into the cause of the fire. Meanwhile, heavy fighting was reported still raging in the Tripoli area in north Lebanon, where parts of Lebanon’s second largest city are under artillery fire from Syrian gun batteries.

Some 200 local residents Palestinian refugees and others, have been killed and over 50 injured in the recent clashes with Syrians, according to reports from Beirut. Syrian gunners have reportedly been firing point-blank into Palestinian refugee camps in the Tripoli area, the reports say.
