A Katyusha rocket was fired from the Beaufort Castle area in south Lebanon today, apparently aimed at Israel, but it fell short of its mark. A military spokesman said the rocket exploded near the Lebanese border village of Klea without causing casualties or damage.
The Beaufort Castle, the ruins of a Crusaders’ stronghold, had been one of the Palestine Liberation Organization’s principal bases in south Lebanon until it was captured by Israeli forces in the early stages of the war in Lebanon last summer.
