The national unity government weathered a crisis Monday when, after a five-hour debate in the Knesset on the peace plan by Premier Shimon Peres, the coalition partners voted confidence in the government. Peres reiterated word for word the operative section of the speech he delivered in the UN General Assembly last Monday and declared emphatically that he stood by every word of it.
