Knesset member Elazar Granot, secretary general of the Mapam party, was due to enter China from Hong Kong Tuesday for a 10-day official visit.
He it the first member of a Zionist party to be invited by the People’s Republic of China. He will be the guest of the Chinese Association for Friendship Among Nations and is expected to discuss the Middle East peace process with senior officials of the Chinese Communist Party.
