A Jewish pedestrian was knifed in the back by an Arab inside the Old City walls Wednesday, but he suffered only minor wounds.
The victim, Yehuda Avrahami, was walking from Damascus Gate to the Western Wall. He said his assailant leaped on him shouting “Allah akhbar” (God is great).
Avrahami ran back to the gate with the knife in his back. He found a border policeman who called an ambulance. Police quickly sealed off the area and arrested several suspects.
Avrahami said Arab shopkeepers witnessing the stabbing swiftly closed their shops.
