Palestinian officials have rejected an Israeli request to hand over suspects believed to be linked to the killing of three Israelis.

Israeli Justice Minister David Libai met Sunday with his Palestinian counterpart, Freih Abu Medein, to discuss the refusal.

According to previous statements, the Palestinians were linking the extradition requests to the release of Palestinians held in Israeli jails, a subject that has come up repeatedly in the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian negotiations. But after meeting with Libai, Medein said the Palestinians would comply with the requests if they were submitted according to all the requirements for extradition’s previously worked out between the two sides, including the furnishing of evidence linking the suspects to the killings.
