U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright will delay her planned departure for Europe to meet in Washington on Wednesday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Albright called Netanyahu after participating in a high-level strategy session on the peace process with President Clinton, National Security Adviser Sandy Berger, Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs Martin Indyk and Middle East envoy Dennis Ross. The developments came after U.S. officials scrubbed a planned meeting in Washington involving Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat.
