The U.S. Senate passed an amendment that would withhold funding to the International Committee of the Red Cross until the group recognizes Israel’s Magen David Adom. The amendment was sponsored by Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.), Peter Fitzgerald (R-Ill.) and Elizabeth Dole (R-N.C.), who is a former president of the American Red Cross.
