The chief of Israel’s armed forces quit. Lt. Gen. Dan Halutz published a resignation letter Wednesday in which he told Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Defense Minister Amir Peretz that he was acting out of a “sense of responsibility” over last year’s Lebanon war.
