Hezbollah demands confiscated guns

Hezbollah demanded the return of a truckload of guns confiscated by Lebanese customs agents. The New York Times quoted the Lebanese terrorist group as saying the truck had been carrying the weapons from the Bekaa Valley in eastern Lebanon to the South, and that this did not violate any prior agreement with the government. Lebanese Defense Minister Elias Murr said the army intended to keep the weapons, but would use them against Israel if needed. According to the U.N.-brokered cease-fire agreement that ended last summer’s war between Israel and Hezbollah, the Lebanese army must prevent Hezbollah from acquiring weapons from abroad.
