Jewish Agency calls for Ukraine probe

The Jewish Agency for Israel called on Ukraine to investigate a recent spate of anti-Semitic incidents. Chairman Zeev Bielski conveyed his concern to Ukraine’s ambassador in Israel over an attack on an exhibition in Kharkov organized by the Jewish Agency. The open-air display dedicated to Israeli Independence Day was set on fire last week.In another incident, the Golden Rose Synagogue in Dnepropetrovsk was smeared with black paint May 3.”On the eve of Victory Day over fascism, which is so important to the Ukrainian people, leaders of the Ukrainian state must wake up and act against ongoing manifestations of anti-Semitism,” Bielski wrote.
