Sderot reservists feel abandoned

Military reservists from Sderot wrote to Israeli Prime
Minister Ehud Olmert to say that the rocket attacks on their town serving made
service difficult.

“People feel that they can’t go and
serve in other places and completely abandon their families here,” Haim
Kuznitz, a reserves lieutenant told Israel Radio on Friday in explaining the
letter. “We have now been abandoned by the Israeli government. And today
we – as husbands, as heads of the family, as parents, as fathers – still
provide some protection just by being here. When we leave here, the families
are completely abandoned.”

Terrorists in the Gaza Strip have in recent
weeks intensified rocket attacks on the southern Israeli town. Israel has until now resisted a full scale incursion
to stop the rocket fire.
