Argentina’s Jewish political umbrella group, DAIA, gave its 2007 awards to Jews, Catholics and Muslims.

On Wednesday at the National Congress, the DAIA awarded Rabbi Daniel Goldman, founder of Project Hineni, which feeds 600 persons daily at the Beth El Community in Buenos Aires, Argentina; Guillermo Marco, of the Roman Catholic Church of Buenos Aires, and the Muslim professor Omar Abboud of the Islamic Center. The three were honored for their “committed work to deepen interreligious dialogue.”

A non-Jewish and governmental organization, Red Solldaria, and Rosa Roisinblit, the Jewish vice president of the Abuelas de Plaza de Mayo human rights organization, also were honored for their involvement with interfaith and humanitarian causes.
