An Israeli airstrike killed a wanted Palestinian terrorist leader in the Gaza Strip.

The Air Force strike hit a car carrying Abu Said Qarmount, the northern Gaza leader of the Popular Resistance Committees, killing him and wounding two. The attack occurred near Beit Lahive, an area frequently used by Palestinian terrorists to shoot Kassam rockets into southern Israel, The Jerusalem Post reported.

Reportedly it was the fourth attempt to kill Qarmount, whose organization has fired hundreds of rockets into Israeli territory.

Palestinians fired four Kassam rockets from Gaza into Israel Monday, one of which landed in Sderot. Three others landed outside the Israeli city.
