Barak: Rockets will be stopped

Israel’s counter measures eventually will succeed in stopping Palestinian rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip, Ehud Barak said.

The defense minister voiced confidence Thursday in the military and diplomatic pressure being brought to bear on Hamas-ruled Gaza, as well as efforts to fortify outlying Israeli communities against rocket salvos.

“If rocket fire from Gaza continues, we will step up our operations until a solution to the Kassam fire is achieved,” Barak told Army Radio.

“This will not end today or tomorrow, but the combination of operations on the one hand and sanctions on the other, as well as fortifications in some communities, will bring an end to Kassam fire.”
