JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israel bombed two Gaza smuggling tunnels.
The attack early Wednesday morning on Gaza’s border with Egypt wounded four Palestinian tunnelers, according to reports citing Gaza emergency services. It was in retaliation for a Palestinian rocket attack from Gaza into southern Israel the previous evening.
The Israel Defense Forces said the tunnels were being used for smuggling weapons into Gaza.
Some 250 rockets have been fired at southern Israel since the end of last winter’s Gaza military offensive. Israel has responded by bombing a smuggling tunnel.
