Sarah Michelle Gellar in a new, dual role.
Former Buffy the Vampire Slayer (may its memory be a blessing) star Sarah Michelle Gellar, who will soon reappear on our small screens in the CW’s drama Ringer, reveals her inspiration for the dual role she plays — twin sisters Siobhan and Bridget — on her new show: Lisa Kudrow and David Schwimmer from Friends.
Of course, many recall that Lisa Kudrow played twins Phoebe and Ursula (who actually started as a character on Mad About You) for several seasons. But Schwimmer also played a doppelganger of sorts while on the hit series — Rachel’s new boyfriend, Russ.
I’m glad to hear about the fun sort of inspiration Gellar found for her new characters. I can only hope that this carries over to the new show and that the talented Ms. Gellar has finally found a successful post-Buffy role for herself.
