DiCaprio invests in Israeli startup

JERUSALEM (JTA) — American actor Leonardo DiCaprio has invested in an Israeli visual media platform start-up company.

DiCaprio participated in a $4 million first round of funding for Mobil Ltd. and is reported to be advising the company as well, though he does not have a high-tech background, according to VentureBeat.

“It’s about him knowing and understanding branding and marketing,” company CEO and co-founder Moshiko Hogeg told VentureBeat.

The company has offices in Israel and New Yiork.

Mobil has invented a new photo-sharing application that allows users to share images in real time.
