To the Editor:
In reference to "Anat Hoffman’s arrest at Western Wall galvanizing liberal Jewish groups," I’ll bet a boycott of all donations to and support of Israel by American Conservative and Reform Jewry would have some impact in getting the laws changed. As an American Jewish woman I would gladly support this action, and have personally stopped donating funds in support of Israel until this travesty is corrected. There can be no double standard for Israel!
The United States also needs to adopt a stance against the power and practices of the ultra-Orthodox in Israel as a violation of human rights and of the equality of women throughout the world.
