(JTA) — Iran will take part in an international conference on creating a nuclear-free zone in the Middle East.

Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations’ nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency, said Tuesday that the Islamic Republic would participate in the conference, scheduled for next month. The ambassador, Ali Asghar Soltanieh, attended a seminar on nuclear non-proliferation in Brussels on Tuesday.

Iran confirmed last week that it has finished installing centrifuges for enriching uranium at its underground nuclear facility in Fordow. It also denied rumors that it had stopped enriching uranium to 20 percent purity, which is considered to be close to the capacity needed to build a nuclear device.
