You better watch out, Bar Refaeli is coming to town.
The Israeli supermodel posted a photo on Instagram in which she appears somewhat hungover and wearing a Santa suit, with the caption “Good Morning Santa!”
And if anyone thought that a photo of a Jewish model wearing Christmas gear would go without any comments, they sure were wrong. Jewish and Israeli followers of Refaeli expressed their feelings, mostly along the lines of: “You know you’re Jewish, right?” Some hoped that she’ll find God; others said she should just convert to Christianity and get it over with and accused her of “betraying Israel.”
This is the second time in the last few weeks that Refaeli has found herself in the center of a social media controversy. During the crisis in Gaza, Refaeli tweeted, “I prey[sic] for the safety of the citizens on both sides and for the day we will live in peace and harmony Amen.”
For some reason, Refaeli’s decision to hope for the safety of both sides made many people, including some minor celebrities, accuse her for being “unpatriotic.”
I would be careful not to upset her: She knows if you’ve been bad or good — so be good for goodness sake!
