JERUSALEM (JTA) — An Arab teen was assaulted in Jerusalem, allegedly by haredi Orthodox youths.

The 15-year-old Arab boy was taken to Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center after the Monday night attack. He sustained head wounds from the attack, according to reports.

The assailants fled the scene; police reportedly are searching for them.

Earlier this month, three Arab teenagers from eastern Jerusalem were arrested for attacking a haredi Orthodox Jewish man as he walked through the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem’s Old City. The teens, all 16, told police after they were arrested that they attacked the Jewish man because they had been assaulted previously by Jews.

In August, three Arab teens were attacked by a group of Jewish youths in what was described as a "lynch situation” by eyewitnesses. The Jewish youths, who were between the ages of 15-20, allegedly shouted “Death to the Arabs” and other racial slurs. One of the Arabs was beaten unconscious and spent several weeks in the hospital.
