JERUSALEM (JTA) — Some 200 Palestinian activists remain at a new tent city in the West Bank.
Israeli soldiers entered the Palestinian outpost in northwest Jerusalem near Beit Iksa on Sunday, two days after it was erected, according to the Palestinian Maan news agency. It is the third time that Israeli troops have entered since the formation of the tent city, named Bab al-Karama, or Gate of Dignity, Village.
The troops took photos of the tents and prevented more activists from entering the area, the French news agency AFP reported.
The outpost reportedly has four tents and a structure to serve as a mosque.
It is the second Palestinian outpost established in the last week. Israeli troops late last week dismantled a Palestinian tent city erected in the controversial E1 corridor between Jerusalem and Maale Adumim.
