JERUSALEM (JTA) — At least six people have been killed and dozens injured in a multiple-vehicle accident near Haifa.
A truck moving at high speed reportedly hit several cars and pedestrians on a road on the outskirts of Haifa on Wednesday afternoon.
After hitting about eight cars, the truck overturned and caught fire.
The driver, who had 16 traffic citations, was injured in the accident. Israel Radio reported that authorities are investigating whether the traffic was bearing more than its allowable weight.
