Israel announces five-athlete Winter Olympics delegation

JERUSALEM (JTA) — Israel will send five athletes to the upcoming Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia.

The delegation, announced Monday according to the Jerusalem Post, will include male figure skater Alexei Bychenko, pairs skaters Evgeni Krasnopolski and Andrea Davidovich, speed skater Vladislav Bykanov and skier Virgile Vandeput.

Krasnopolski and Davidovich will be Israel’s first pairs figure skating entry ever. The pair, and Bychenko, train in Hackensack, New Jersey.

The Sochi Winter Olympics will be held Feb. 7- Feb. 23.
