JERUSALEM (JTA) — Ten Jewish Israelis — seven adults and three minors — were indicted in the beating of two Palestinians from eastern Jerusalem.
Under the indictments filed on Monday in Jerusalem District Court and Jerusalem District Juvenile Court, the accused are charged with aggravated assault in the July 25 attack.
The victims, both 20-year-old residents of the Bet Hanina neighborhood, were beaten near Neve Yaakov, a Jewish neighborhood of eastern Jerusalem, allegedly by a group of Jewish youths. The attack occurred soon after two Jewish teenagers spoke to the men and ascertained that they were Arabs, according to reports.
The victims said the mob used sticks and iron bars and that they lost consciousness during the attack.
