Netanyahu critics already are moving to exploit his rift with President Obama, stepping up their condemnations of the prime minister and calling on the United States to increase pressure on Israel.
The Iowa Republican, speaking about lawmakers who sat out Netanyahu’s speech to Congress, said that American Jews “can be Democrats first and Jews second.”
A memorial service will be held in New York before the bodies are flown to Israel, from where the Sassoon family moved two years ago to be closer to relatives.
