Orr Yakobi, 22, a senior at the University of California, San Diego who was brought to the U.S. by his parents at the age of 7, had faced deportation before his release on Friday.
Friedman said in the letter to the family of Rabbi Raziel Shevah that he “received countless communications extolling the virtues of this very special man.”
