Two hundred and eleven Jewish refugees who were arrested after they crossed into Italy illegally en route to Palestine were released today as a result of intervention by the Union of Jewish Communities with the Italian Government. UNRRA has agreed to provide maintenance for the refugees.

Jewish orphans who have arrived in Italy recently from Eastern Europe are now housed in two childrens homes, one in Milan and the other near Como, operated by UNRRA and the JDC. The homes are staffed by teachers and welfare workers from Palestine.
