Forty thousand pilgrims from all parts of the country converged on Mt. Zion today in special trains and buses to offer prayers in memory of Jews martyred by the Nazis and to pray fro the well-being of Israel.
President Itzhak Ben Zvi’s house was open to the public today and thousands of those who made the pilgrimage to Mt. Zion went there afterward to wish him a merry holiday. They were entertained by two bands. The houses of both the Ashkenazi and Sephardic Chief Rabbis were also open the public and many of the pilgrims visited them as well.
