Forty-five refugees, German Jews converted to Catholicism, arrived here today as the first group of several hundred Catholic refugees being admitted to Brazil by President Getulio Vargas at the request of the Pope. Immigration Department officials took charge of the group pending a decision by the Government as to their disposition.
