A fervently Orthodox group is backing non-Jewish groups that are challenging a law requiring employers to provide contraceptive coverage in their health insurance plans. Agudath Israel of America said the New York state law, the Women’s Health and Wellness Act, has exemptions for certain religious nonprofit groups, but not sectarian social service agencies.
