A group of U.S. senators called on Switzerland not to convene a meeting Wednesday of the Fourth Geneva Convention. A letter circulated by Sen. Gordon Smith (R-Ore.) and signed by 10 other senators said that given the terror attacks of the past several days, holding a forum to condemn Israeli actions toward Palestinians will only further destabilize the peace process.
