A National Council of Jewish Women leader was cited as one of the “21 Leaders for the 21st Century.â€
Sammie Moshenberg, the NCJW’s director of Washington operations, was selected by Women’s eNews, a nonpartisan Web site devoted to women’s issues, for her social justice activism on Capitol Hill. Moshenberg and the other leaders will be feted at a gala in New York City on May 21. “This is quite an honor,†she said after receiving news of the award, “but this recognition does not just belong to me. I share this award with the many thousands of women, NCJW’s advocates, with whom I have worked with over the past 26 years to make a difference in the lives of women.â€
