A new public opinion poll shows a bare majority of Americans oppose school vouchers. A survey conducted by the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies found that 50 percent of the population opposes a voucher system where parents would get money from government to send their children to the public, private or parochial school of their choice, while 42 percent support the idea. The survey had a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.
