A total of $8,000 of the alloted $30,000 was raised for the United Palestine Appeal in Hartford, at a meeting at which Judge William M. Lewis of Philadelphia was the principal speaker.

Opening its $35,000 campaign for the United Palestine Appeal, more than 300 guests contributed $18,000 towards the Washington Heights and Inwood Division’s quota at a dinner at the Paramount Mansion, New York, Sunday night.

Morris Rothenberg, national chairman of the board of directors of the United Palestine Appeal, delivered the principal address. Hyman J. Reit was toastmaster and Deputy Police Commissioner Nelson Ruttenberg, chairman of the local campaign, was another speaker.
