About a dozen religiously observant Americans urged U.S. lawmakers to enact protections for religious freedom during a hearing of a subcommittee of the House Judiciary Committee. As Congress contemplates legislation to restore the protections afforded under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, the witnesses testified about personal hardships they have suffered without the law, which was invalidated by the Supreme Court last year.
