The fate of Israel’s application for U.N. membership will be decided within the next 48 hours, following the resumption of the plenary session of the General Assembly at Flushing Meadows tomorrow.

American delegate to the United Nations Warren Austin today presented an ?8,000,000 check to the U.N. as the first United States contribution to Arab refugees from Palestine. Austin said that relief of the refugees “is one of the minimum conditions for the success of the efforts of the U.N. to bring peace to Palestine.”
