An obviously inspired article in the Jewish News Page, only Jewish newspaper ( a single sheet) permitted to publish since the Nazi pogroms, demands that the world talk less and do more with regard to the Jewish problem in Germany.
Written in the aggressive tone characteristic of the Nazi press, the article declares: “It is time to bring forcibly to the attention of Jewry how useless and harmful are the discussions on the Jewish question. The Jews of Germany have an overwhelming desire that the world speak less and do more in the way of real help by bringing the Jews out of the Reich.”
Using figures published by Nazi newspapers last Thursday, the article points out that the United States admitted 1,500,000 Jews between 1920 and 1936 and nearly a million in the decade ending 1910. Compared with this, it declares, the 600,000 German Jews present no problem. The article urges establishment of provisional settlements in the United States to care for and train immigrants pending their permanent settlement.
