American Jewish Committee Delegation Arrives in Israel; Confers with Premier Ben Gurion

A delegation representing the American Jewish committee was received here today by Premier David Ben Gurion and discussed with him problems of economic development in Israel and relations between Israel and Jews in ### United States.

The delegation also called on Rabbi Judah L. Fistanan, Minister of Religion, ##d was received at the Tel Aviv municipality. The party, which arrived here last night at Ben Groin’s invitation, was headed by Jacob Baluster, of Baltimore, president of the A.J.C., and included Dr. John Slaws on, Irving Engel, Simon Sepal and ###charia Schuster.An all-out economic effort was urged by Premier Ben Gurion yesterday in #### address opening the Congress of the Israeli Journalists Association at Habimah ###all Ben Gurion warned that the main dangers confronting Israel when it was founded, in the military, political and economic fields, are still present but are not so bad in the military and economic sphere. The main danger now is economic, he emphasized.

An immediate effort must be made to speed up the absorption of immigrants, ###en Gurion said, to increase new housing potentialities and to develop large-scale ?ioneering for land settlement.
