An artist supported by Jewish cultural organizations was named a Guggenheim fellow. Saar Harari, a New York-based choreographer and the artistic director of LeeSaar The Company, was among the 190 artists selected to be a fellow by the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. This year the foundation is giving away a total of $8.2 million to its fellows. Harari, 34, is also a recipient of the Six Points Fellowship for Emerging Jewish Artists, through which he is developing his next work. The Six Points Fellowship, which started last year, is a project of Avoda Arts, JDub Records and the Foundation for Jewish Culture, and is heavily funded by the UJA-Federation of New York.
