An exhibition of paintings by famous Russian dissident artist Gavriel Glickman will open in Holon this Saturday. Glickman, 62, lives in Leningrad, but many of his paintings were recently smuggled out of the USSR by the Dvorkin family who are close friends of the artist, The news was conveyed to the JTA Tuesday by the Dvorkins. Glickman’s persistent themes are the Holocaust and the Russian labor camps, though he is also an accomplished portrait artist.
