An Israeli hospital obtained an experimental machine for patients with terminal liver disease. The machine provides external liver functioning for patients, similar to dialysis for kidney patients, whose survival until now relied solely on transplants, according to the Israeli daily Ma’ariv. Approval for its use in Israel is still pending.
