Anthony Crosland, the British Foreign Secretary, is seriously ill in an Oxford hospital after suffering a stroke, the Foreign Office said Monday. His illness has cast doubt on a meeting of the European Parliament’s political committee due to take place here Tuesday. Crosland, as incumbent president of the European Economic Community (EEC) Council, was to have briefed the committee on political aspects of the EEC’s association treaties with Israel and her Arab neighbors. Two weeks ago, the Council meeting in London discussed EEC policy in the Middle East.
